For the Joropo Tournament, the route to the Llano will have controlled passage and restrictions to guarantee mobility.
He Ministry of Transportation announced a series of special measures to guarantee mobility in the via Bogotá – Villavicencio during the International Joropo Tournamentwhich will take place this weekend in the capital of Meta.
Controlled passage is maintained with dynamic traffic lights
According to the entity, the traffic light system will continue to operate at kilometer 18, a point where a landslide was recorded on September 7, keeping traffic restricted.
The mechanism allows the alternating passage of vehicles, with intervals that authorize the ascent of 400 vehicles from Villavicencio and descent of 300 from Bogotá, depending on the traffic flow.
“Traffic behavior was evaluated with the implementation of the dynamic traffic light at kilometer 18, a measure that is maintained due to its effectiveness in improving passage times and prioritizing the direction with the greatest vehicle flow,” explained Roberto Uparela, vice president of the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI).
Restrictions for heavy-duty vehicles
The ANI confirmed the restrictions for cargo vehicles greater than 3.4 tons, which will apply at the following times:
Friday, October 31: from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm, direction Bogotá – Villavicencio.
Saturday, November 1: from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, direction Bogotá – Villavicencio.
Holiday Monday, November 3: from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm, direction Villavicencio – Bogotá, along with reversible operation to facilitate the return.
There will be no regional peak and plate on holiday Monday
As an additional measure, on holiday Monday the regional peak and license plate will not be applied for entry to Bogotá via the Llano route. The decision seeks to expedite the return of those attending the Tournament and avoid congestion at access points to the capital.

He Ministry of Transportationtogether with the Government of Meta, the ANI, the Directorate of Transit and Transportation (DITRA) and other entities, coordinates the implementation of these special measures for the road corridor.
