The deadline for applications for the remaining vacancies in the Student Financing Fund (Fies) can be made until 11:59 pm this Thursday (30), Brasília time.
Registration must be made exclusively online, on the Fies page within the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education.
Fies is the Ministry of Education (MEC) program that grants financing to low-income students studying undergraduate courses at private higher education institutions.
The financing for those selected for the remaining vacancies will cover tuition fees starting from this second academic semester of 2025.
In this edition, the federal government offered more than 58 thousand places for 10,319 undergraduate courses/shifts, in 690 private higher education institutions.

Who can register
THE notice with the rules for filling the remaining Fies vacancies for the second half of 2025, it establishes that candidates must:
- have a gross monthly family income per capita of up to three minimum wages;
- be able to reach the minimum required attendance, that is, 70% attendance, in this second academic semester, in the chosen course;
- have participated in one of the editions of the National High School Exam (Enem), from 2010 onwards;
- having obtained an arithmetic average of grades in the five Enem tests equal to or greater than 450 points and not having received a zero grade in the essay.
Those candidates who participated in Enem editions only as a trainer cannot register to have access to Fies.
The notice highlights that 50% of the remaining vacancies will be reserved for Fies Social, a modality that includes candidates with a family income per person of up to half the minimum wage, registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico), with active registration.
Selection
The result of the single Fies call will be released next Tuesday (4).
According to the MEC, the classification will follow the descending order of Enem grades, with priority for candidates:
- without higher education who have never benefited from Fies;
- without higher education who paid off previous financing;
- with higher education who have never benefited from Fies;
- with higher education who paid off previous financing.
Timeline
On November 5th and 6th, those pre-selected in the single call must validate the information declared when registering with the Permanent Supervision and Monitoring Committee, within the higher education institution to which they applied.
If the committee identifies errors or inconsistencies regarding the information provided, the institution may require the presentation of additional documentation.
If the documentation is approved, the next step is to validate the information with a financial agent within 10 days, counting from the third day after validation of the registration by the college committee. Only after the bank’s approval can the financing be formalized, within 10 business days.
Waiting list
Students who are not pre-selected in the single call will be automatically included on the waiting list, and may be called between November 13th and 28th.
