This Wednesday, October 29, in each workplace and company in the country, the base assemblies begin, until November 21, in view of the Great National Congress of the Working Class that will be held in the month of December of this year, as reported by the Minister of Popular Power for the Social Work Process, Eduardo Piñate.
In an interview with the Al Aire program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he indicated that in these assemblies a debate will be carried out on three main tasks: productive plan, organization and comprehensive defense of the homeland. In addition, three main delegates and three alternates will be elected.
Likewise, he expressed that, from November 24 to 29, municipal assemblies will be held by sector, in which only the spokespersons elected in each productive area will participate. Piñate explained that, from December 1 to 6, the state sectoral assemblies will be held, from which the spokespersons who will make up the National Constituent Congress will emerge.
In addition, he highlighted that the Bolivarian Socialist Central of Workers has considered the transformation in unionism that can adapt to changes in the world of work, which includes digitalization, artificial intelligence and the technological transformations associated with the fourth industrial revolution.
He mentioned that the majority of the country’s workers hope that a process of transformation and refoundation of the labor movement will occur. “This is the time to hold a workers’ constituent, due to the economic situation and the context of aggression that the nation faces, given that the working class plays a fundamental role for development,” he pointed out.
