Innovation Week at UTEC is underway at Melo Headquarters
Students from all the Technological Universities in the country are participating in a new Edition of the UTEC Innovation Week.
On this occasion, students from an institution with similar characteristics in the Argentine Republic arrived as guests to join the proposal, which gives this meeting an international character.
“Innovation Week is an iconic event of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and UTEC that has been taking place for more than 6 years in different cities throughout the country” Alejandra Martínez informed EL PROFESIONAL Diario.
“It brings together between 60 and 80 students from all majors and from all territories in an activity that lasts 3 days where the students immerse themselves in the territory, they deeply understand what the problems are, what the pains of the territory are and they can work “in analyzing possibilities to resolve or generate recommendations for the particular territory,” he added.
“In each territory, what we do is work with the Municipality of each place and with the social organizations that are in each department to be able to see first-hand what the real and relevant problems of working with students are” explained the Director of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of UTEC.
“In these three days, students coexist, develop soft skills, work as a team, generate solutions, have fun, have good times and that is also extremely important for learning and academic development” Martinez considered.
“They are working in Melo, visiting organizations, visiting public spaces, generating solutions for the territory” Martinez said.
“Students have come from all over the national territory, from the different departments, which at this moment are 6, 8 majors represented and we also have the visit of students and teachers from the UTN of Argentina” projection.
Precisely, the Melo Headquarters has the privilege of being the first edition that Innovation Week has an international character, another additive to this important activity.
This is a proposal that is made every year at a different headquarters so that all departments with UTEC presence have the same possibilities.
“The students go through a process and it is a very transformative experience for them. It is a before and after in their trajectories” he assured.
“For the territories there are recommendations that each Municipality will then be able to address in the way it wants or decides” He pointed out regarding the suggestions that the students will make.
“This event takes between 5 and 6 months of preparation, organization, with a lot of coordination work with the Municipality, logistics work, work with the students, preparation of the dynamics, training of the teachers who are going to do the dynamics and coordination with the University of Argentina. There is a lot of prior work of almost 6 months of production for these three days that we hope will be truly transformative for the students and for the department as well” ended by expressing Alejandra Martínez, Director of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UTEC.
