SANTO DOMINGO.– The Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), Victor “Ito” Bisonóheads the official delegation that will represent the country in the second Dominican Week in Spain (SEDE 2025)to be celebrated October 27 to 30 in Madridwith the purpose of strengthening commercial, cultural and cooperation ties between both nations.

Before his trip, Bisonó highlighted that the Dominican Republic arrives on this international stage as a country modern, reliable and competitive.

“We will go to Spain to show the history of a stable Dominican Republic, with strong institutions and clear rules, where each investment finds legal security and transparency,” said the official.

Strategic meetings

During the agenda, the minister will hold strategic meetings with representatives of the Spanish business and financial sector, in which he will present the country’s achievements in terms of attraction of foreign capitalimpulse to industrial innovationcommercial openness and sustained growth of sectors such as high-value manufacturing, global services, creative industries and clean energy.

Bisonó pointed out that the economic stability of the Dominican Republic is reflected in the investments of important Spanish capital companies that operate in national territory, among them Acciona Energía, Grupo Eulen, Grupo Hospiten, Grupo Varma (Ron Barceló), MAPFRE, Grupo BHD, Banco Sabadell, Ly Company Group and Tetra Pakwhich have expanded their presence and trusted in the future of the Dominican economy.

Dominican Week in Spain constitutes a space for dialogue and collaboration that brings together public authorities, businessmen and leaders from different sectors, with the aim of continuing to expand opportunities for joint development.

Public policies

In this second edition, the Dominican delegation will present the public policies promoted in recent years to reinforce legal security, productive diversification and sustainable economic growth, elements that have turned the country into one of the most attractive destinations in the region for international investment.

At the moment, Spain is the second largest investor in the Dominican Republicwhich – according to the minister – confirms business confidence in the country’s business environment.

With its participation in SEDE 2025, the MICM seeks further consolidate the economic-commercial relationship with Spain, strengthen strategic alliances and reaffirm the positioning of the Dominican Republic as a nation that grows with vision, stability and openness to the world.
