Play “We Are All Light and We Are Shadow” will be presented tomorrow at Teatro España
The activity is part of a three-year stage training project – the second is already ending – which aims to consolidate groups of local actors.
This function, with the presentation of the work “We are all Light and we are Shadow”, It will take place tomorrow, Friday, October 31, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Teatro España with free admission.
“The date coincides with Halloween and All Saints’ Eve, so we also invite people who like to dress up or children who follow this tradition to attend in costume. After the play, you can take photos with the actors.” held Damián Legelén.
“The work is inspired by The Man Who Sold His Shadow by Adelbert Von Chamisso, which is the story of a person who goes out to look for work, does not get it, a mysterious character appears who, in exchange for the shadow, gives him a lot of money.” advancement. “From there he begins to buy wealth, land and everything else, but people begin to distance themselves from him because there is something suspicious. The learning is that money does not buy everything, it does not buy friendships, it does not buy being a person. That leads to a definitive decision: recover the shadow, but in exchange for his soul. The character decides not to lose his soul and help all the people he meets in life” he added.
You can see the end of the story in this presentation this Friday night at the Teatro España.
Its Director told THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL that the work is aimed at the whole family.
“Those who attend will be in a well-kept and caring place” accurate. “Sometimes we go to places where they don’t take care of us, they don’t take care of what we see, they don’t take care of what we hear, they don’t take care of what we feel or what we reflect on. The theater is designed for that, to have a cared for place where they take care of us. In addition, the theater is different from the screens of cell phones and platforms, where we don’t like something and we change it. Here we have to sit and listen to what is happening on stage.” basis.
“This is a learning experience because there are scenes in life where one cannot escape. Thinking about children and adolescents, who have no patience and want everything now, in theater we return to the here and now” Legelén stressed.
This activity will mark the closing of the second year of training that revolved around the drama that aims to learn to manage feelings and tensions, to manage the bad things that happen and to enjoy the good things. “It’s the second year of three years. Next year will be dedicated to Comedy” advancement.
The graduate trip will be to San José to perform at the legendary Macció Theater. “The students will have the possibility of having an interview with the Board and another interview with another Independent Theater. On the one hand, they will have the opportunity to learn about the reality of that Theater managed by the Municipality such as the Macció, which is iconic, and an independent theater to know how it is managed and how they carry it out” express. “There we end the 3-year cycle” he added.
DECLARATION OF DEPARTMENTAL INTEREST
“This proposal of performing art work was considered by the Departmental Board of Cerro Largo as of Departmental interest” Damián Legelén highlighted.
This declaration was voted unanimously in the last plenary session held on Thursday, October 23. “Beyond the joy that this represents, it is the recognition and support for the work we have been doing” he pointed out.
Later, he thanked the trust he received from the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association to carry out this work process with a very heterogeneous group of 12 people made up of 18-year-olds and people over 60. “This intergenerational dialogue is very beautiful, with older people who transfer their wisdom to the youngest and young people who transmit what is new today” Damián Legelén remarked.
