Sending money via WhatsApp will no longer be an idea of the future. He Aval Group announced the launch of a new functionality that will allow users to perform bank transfers from the messaging appan option that promises to make operations between people simpler and safer.
According to the entity, this tool is integrated into the immediate payment system of the Bank of the Republic (Bre-B) and will allow money transfers at no cost, instantly and between different financial entities.
“This is a first functionality in the country that allows you to move your money through WhatsApp in an easy, instant, free and above all safe way,” said Jorge Castaño, vice president of Financial Assets and Efficiency of Grupo Aval, in an interview with Noticias Caracol.
The function, for now, will be enabled for customers of the Aval Groupexclusively Dale users, and it is expected that in the future it will be enabled for digital wallets of Bank of Bogotá, Bank of the West, Banco Popular and AV Villas.
To activate it, the first step is open the Dale appenter with the username and password, and authorize contacts to whom you want to send money through WhatsApp.
The second step consists of start a conversation with Dale on WhatsAppverifying that it is the official account, which is identified with the blue pimp.
“This is a corporate account that we recommend verifying like any other: the blue pimp guarantees that it is Dale’s real account. In addition, we make available the official number 315 269 6532, so that clients confirm that they are interacting with the financial institution.”
Security and verification measures
The executive highlighted the importance of taking precautions against possible cases of impersonation. For this reason, Dale’s chat always begins with a process of identity validationconfirming that “it is you”, using the number associated with the app and the owner’s ID.
After verifying the identity, the user will be able to indicate the amount and select the contact to whom you want to send money. The platform will request a final confirmation before completing the transaction.
“We need to calibrate how it works in terms of security and experience. Basically, we are starting with two transactions per day, maximum 100 thousand pesos per operation. Then the client will be able to adjust their limits from the wallet,” explained Castaño.
The entity recalled that will never request passwords, card numbers or banking information by WhatsApp or text messages. He also recommended save Dale’s verified account as a favorite to facilitate recognition and avoid fraud.
This innovation makes WhatsApp a new alternative to send money immediatelystrengthening the digital transformation of the financial sector in Colombia and offering a closer and more everyday payment experience.
