In order to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation between Russia and Venezuela, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, held a telephone conversation with the head of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin where they addressed the Approving Law for the Treaty of Strategic Association and Cooperation that exists between both nations.
Through his Telegram channel, Rodríguez reported that he expressed to Volodin “the serious violations of international law and the charter of the United Nations perpetrated by the unprecedented military deployment of the United States government in Caribbean waters.”
Both authorities ratified their support for the Caribbean to remain a zone of peace, as well as addressing the unwavering decision of the people of Venezuela to defend their independence and sovereignty.
“We expressed our hope for the strengthening of a multipolar world, which is the supreme objective shared by President Vladimir Putin and President Nicolás Maduro Moros,” he emphasized in the publication.
Venezuela and Russia maintain a relationship based on principles of friendship, cooperation and mutual respect. Both nations travel a common path to consolidate the multipolar world for shared development.
With the recent signing of the Approving Law for the Treaty of Strategic Partnership and Cooperation, both nations raised standards of political and diplomatic dialogue. In addition, they deepened cooperation in energy, mining, transportation, communications, security, the fight against terrorism, as well as the opposition of both nations to unilateral coercive and restrictive measures.
