The Judiciary imposed 20 years of effective prison on José Antonio Rivera Orellana (27), after being found responsible for the crime against sexual freedom to the detriment of a minor under 15 years of age. The sentence was obtained by the Second Office of the First Provincial Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Violence against Women and Members of the Family Group of Huancayo, led by the provincial prosecutor María Gutiérrez Fernández.

According to the tax investigation, the defendant contacted the teenager through social networks in December 2023, gaining her trust and subsequently exerting psychological pressure on her to hold meetings on different dates during the first months of 2024. The situation was discovered when the minor’s brother informed his mother about the inappropriate messages, which allowed the complaint to be filed with the Police.

During the trial, deputy prosecutor Elva Carhuallanqui Caysahuana presented sufficient evidence to prove the responsibility of the person under investigation, a graduate in nursing, for which the Collegiate Criminal Court Subspecialized in Crimes of Violence against Women issued a conviction. Rivera Orellana currently has a location and arrest warrant to serve the sentence imposed.
