Citizens who have pending summonses for traffic violations in Bogotá will be able to access discounts of up to 50% on the value of their fines, as long as they complete a pedagogical course within the deadlines established by law. The measure, in force during 2025, seeks to promote road culture and facilitate the normalization of obligations before the District Mobility Secretariat (SDM).
According to the entity, people who receive a summons, whether in person or electronically, can obtain a 50% or 25% discount, depending on the time it takes to make the payment and attend the corresponding course. This alternative, contemplated in the National Traffic Code (Law 769 of 2002) and in Law 1843 of 2017, aims to promote timely compliance and reduce the recurrence of violations in the city.

For example, in the case of summonses imposed directly on the street, citizens can access a 50% discount if they complete the course and payment within five business days following imposition and if they do so between 6 and 20 business days, the discount will be 25%.

In both cases, the pedagogical course It is an essential requirement to access the benefit, and must be done before making the payment.
