On the morning of this Tuesday, October 29, members of the State Security Unit (USEG) of Huancayo arrested former regional governor Maciste Alejandro Díaz Abad (58), who had a current warrant issued by the Second Unipersonal Court of Huancavelica. According to the police report, Díaz Abad was wanted for the alleged crime of illegal appointment or acceptance of public office, according to file No. 1419-2025, dated July 3, 2025. The intervention was carried out by agents of the USEG PNP, with no incidents recorded during the operation.

After his capture, the former governor was transferred to the Specialized Requisitions Unit for legal proceedings. The procedure ended around 11:00 in the morning, leaving Díaz Abad in police custody while his transfer to the corresponding jurisdiction is coordinated.
