Santo Domingo.– The vice president of the Dominican Liberation Party, Yván Lorenzodescribed this Tuesday as a «derision» to the intelligence of the Dominican people the comprehensive inspection process National Health Insurance (SeNaSa)carried out by the Chamber of Accounts.
“As a mockery of the intelligence of the Dominican people, this audit of the National Health Insurance is published, despite the fact that public rumor accuses Santiago Hazim’s management of having embezzled more than 50 billion pesos,” Lorenzo said on his social network. x (old Twitter).
The political leader added that “Instead of auditing the years 2023 and 2024, which are still pending, an audit is presented corresponding to the years 2017 and 2018while a special investigation into the administration of Dr. Santiago Hazim remains pending.

It is remembered that the Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic (CCRD) initiated a comprehensive review of SeNaSawhich covers both a financial audit and a special investigation into the purchasing and contracting processes carried out by that state institution.
According to the highest external control body, the audit of SeNaSa includes the analysis of its financial statements and budget execution corresponding to the period from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019as well as an evaluation of the most recent institutional operations.
The Chamber of Accounts reported that a project is currently in the completion phase budget execution audit until 2024in addition to a forensic investigation into procurement of goods and services carried out between January 1, 2023 and September 30, 2025.
These actions are part of the inspection plan developed by the Plenary of the Chamber of Accountschaired by Dr. Emma Polanco Melowith the purpose of guaranteeing the transparency and the proper use of public funds.
In its session on October 17, the body also approved four new audit reportsincluding that of SeNaSaas well as those corresponding to the La Guáyiga Municipal District Boardhe National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI) and the Nagua Municipal Council.
