Robinho He has been in prison for just over a year and a half after being accused of group rape while a player of the Milan. The former Real Madrid player, 41, spoke from the Tremembé prison and described in a video recorded from there his daily life in the São Paulo prison, where he is serving nine years of his sentence. Basically what he has done is deny a series of accusations made about him that allude to his way of life in prison.
The former footballer is accused of differential treatment in prison, something he has categorically denied. “My diet and my sleep schedule are the same as everyone else’s. I have never eaten anything different nor have I received any different treatment,” said the former player, who also explained that he can only play soccer on Sundays, when there are no work activities. “They have told lies that I am a leader or that I have psychological problems. I never had that nor did I take medication. It is difficult to be in prison, but thank God I keep a cool head,” he expresses in the same video.

In another section of the recording, Robinho underlined the objective of the prison system: “Here we seek to reeducate and resocialize. The guards rule, and we prisoners obey,” insisting that there is no type of preferential treatment.
