With the end of the year just around the corner, educational institutions adjust their calendars to make way for school holidays.
The end of the year is approaching and with it also the long-awaited school break. These dates apply mainly to schools with calendar A, the most common in the country. In these cases, the second semester usually begins in July and ending at the beginning of December, guaranteeing compliance with the teaching time required by the Ministry of Education.
School break in Bogotá
In the case of the district schools of Bogotá, the The official schedule is already defined by the District Education Secretariat. During 2025, students have had three rest periods throughout the year:
- From April 14 to 18: a week of recess corresponding to Holy Week.
- From June 23 to July 11: three weeks of mid-year vacation.
- From October 6 to 10: a week of school recess in the second semester.
