What seemed like a quiet night turned into terror for a young mother in the district of Chilca, province of Huancayo. Her ex-partner, a bus driver identified as Ronal Palacín Sáenz (27), broke into her home on the night of October 22 and attacked her with a knife while her little son was present.

According to the victim’s testimony, the man entered through the window, began to insult her and, after an argument, hit her and caused a cut on her face. Taking advantage of an oversight, the woman managed to calm him momentarily and leave the room with her son to ask a neighbor for help, who alerted her family and the National Police, who arrested the aggressor minutes later.

The case quickly reached the Judiciary, which ordered five months of preventive detention for the driver, while the Violence Against Women Prosecutor’s Office continues the investigations into the alleged crime of attempted feminicide. The victim is out of danger, but still affected by the violent attack.
