They seize rigged scales in the Huancayo commercial checkerboard

In the heart of the Huancayo Commercial Damero, Consumer Defense and Inspection personnel of the Provincial Municipality seized 30 adulterated scales during an unexpected operation carried out in the Ferrocarril, Piura, Ica, Guido and Huancas districts.

The inspectors detected that several merchants, both formal and informal, used hidden mechanisms to alter the real weight of the products, directly affecting buyers. In some cases, the difference reached up to two kilograms less for each sale.

According to Guido Villegas, head of Consumer Defense, the operations will continue in other areas of the city. In addition, he recalled that formal premises that are discovered using these devices will face fines of up to 10% of a UIT, while the seized scales will be permanently removed from circulation.
