Seeking an answer to the overflow of crime, the former president of the Congressional Constitution Commission Patricia Juarez He anticipated that he will present a bill to establish the return of the so-called faceless judges in cases related to criminal organizations, hitmen, extortion, among other crimes.
The measure, as he explained, is to protect the physical integrity of the magistrates, many of whom have been intimidated by criminals.
“Judges and prosecutors who are the ones who have to carry out hearings and sentence when appropriate to these highly dangerous criminals have been intimidated and threatened. In the office we have been working on a bill with which we want to establish exceptional measures for prosecution, ensuring the integrity of judges and prosecutors.” Indian.
“What is intended is to use digital tools so that justice can be administered, be it at the level of the prosecutor’s office and the Judiciary, without identifying the judges and prosecutors who administer justice, known as faceless judges,” he stated.
Juárez cited the case of Margarita Haro Pinto, provincial criminal prosecutor of San Juan de Lurigancho, who reported being extorted by the criminal organization Los Chukys of Juan Pablo II.
“I have been in the Public Ministry and I have had a meeting with those who, obviously, are those who administer justice or have ownership of the investigations, and they point out that there are at least eighty prosecutors who at this moment are threatened and that it is impossible for the police to be able to give them 24 hours a day, not only to them, but to their families,” said Juárez.
“I believe that the State, given the exceptional situation and given that it has to carry out a comprehensive fight against crime, must give this solution to judges and prosecutors,” he stressed.
