Delia Espinoza, suspended prosecutor of the Nationindicated that he requested a meeting with José Jerí when he served as president of Congress in order to expose the risks of pro-crime laws.
“The pro-crime laws as citizens now call them, I met Mr. José Jerí when he was still president of Congress, I told him that we should meet to analyze and repeal or modify those laws that are harming the fight against crime,” he indicated.
At another time, he mentioned that the National Board of Justice (JNJ) and the Congress of the Republic of Peru promote constitutional complaints against him, “playing wall.” “The National Board of Justice is waiting for time… and Congress is prioritizing my complaints over other much older ones. They are acting in a wall,” he declared.
He added that the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations has already voted to admit one of the complaints against him with ten votes in favor, which – in his opinion – reinforces the idea of a politically directed procedure.

Previously, he announced that he would initiate legal action against the JNJ for not allowing his replacement. “What we are going to share is a violation of rule of law. (…) Yesterday, the JNJ took another step within the wide spectrum of irregularities it has been committing. This cannot go unnoticed by the Judiciary. I want to make it publicly known that the JNJ intends to consecrate its illegality by acting as judge and party, despite our requests for inhibition. They know very well that they are not competent to continue disciplinary proceedings against me. Only six members of the JNJ have been carrying out this administrative procedure illegally. They have also irregularly inhibited Mr. Francisco Távara Córdova”, he expressed.
The former head of Public Ministry She stated that these actions are part of a coordinated plan to remove her from office. He maintained that said plan involves actors both within the JNJ as out of it, and mentioned the Congress of the Republic as one of the institutions that, according to him, also promotes unfounded proceedings against him, calling them “inventions.”
“The (investigations) that are in Congress are inventions, they are simply reprisals to seek to disqualify me and very soon, because they are rushing with the cases. They are accelerating in an incredible way that I wish they would maintain with other cases that they have had since last year. (…) They want to remove me. This responds to a plan to achieve my dismissal. (…) At that moment they wanted to impose the order on me, coercing me and trying to force me to assume the role. charge of Attorney of the Nation. We are heading towards a dictatorship. “Everything is becoming more grotesque, more open, shameless and shameless (…),” he said.
