The advance of a cold front in the state of São Paulo should change the weather and favor the formation of rain showers in several regions of the state starting this Monday (27).
Rains are expected to occur irregularly, accompanied by lightning and winds of moderate to strong intensity. According to Civil Defense, temperatures will gradually drop until Wednesday (29).
The metropolitan region of the state of São Paulo is expected to record minimum temperatures of 15°C and maximum temperatures of 28°C; in Baixada Santista, thermometers vary between 18°C and 25°C; and on the north coast, between 19°C and 28°C.
The Serra da Mantiqueira registers cold again in the early morning, with a minimum of 13°C and a maximum of 22°C, while the Ribeira Valley and the Itapeva Region vary between 14°C and 25°C.
In other regions, the pattern of instability repeats itself with Sorocaba and Campinas recording maximum temperatures of 29°C; Bauru and Araraquara, 29°C; Presidente Prudente and Marília, 29°C; and Araçatuba and São José do Rio Preto, 33°C. In Barretos, Franca and Ribeirão Preto, temperatures are also expected to reach 33°C, with heavy rain showers and moderate to strong winds.
According to state Civil Defense meteorologists, from Thursday (30), the passage of the cold front will be followed by the arrival of a mass of cold air, which will bring a drop in temperature in all regions. In the capital, minimums are expected to drop to 13°C, with maximums of just 16°C, configuring a typical post-frontal scenario.
Clouds in the capital
In the city of São Paulo, the week started off sultry with a lot of cloudiness and thermometers fluctuating around 17.6°C during the early hours of the morning. According to data from the São Paulo City Council’s Emergency Management Center (CGE), October has so far recorded 64.7mm of rain, which corresponds to approximately 57.7% of the expected 112.2mm.
Rising temperature
According to the CGE SP, during Monday (27) the sun appears between clouds and favors the rise in temperatures, with maximum temperatures that can reach 27°C and humidity levels reaching values close to 50%. However, the approach of the cold front should cause rain in the form of isolated showers varying from weak to moderate intensity, mainly between the end of the afternoon and the course of the night.
Tuesday (28) should start with a lot of cloudiness, drizzle and drizzle in the capital of São Paulo. Thermometers vary between minimums of 17°C and maximums that should not exceed 22°C.
“During the afternoon, instability gains strength, causing rain of light to moderate intensity, which should occur intermittently until the evening,” say meteorologists.
On Wednesday (29), the weather remains unstable with a lot of cloudiness and intermittent rain, alternating with periods of improvement throughout the day. Temperatures must range from a minimum of 16°C to a maximum of 22°C.
