
A 57-year-old man was sentenced in the United States to life in prison without the right to parole after being found guilty of murdering his wife, the Venezuelan Franyerlis Zambrano Briceño, 26, in December 2023.
The event occurred in Fayette County, in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. Zambrano’s body was found on January 1, 2024 inside his home with a gunshot woundafter several days of disappearance.
Investigations determined that Arthur Guty tried to flee the country after the events and was arrested in January 2024 at a resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, with $100,000 in cash.
According to Uniontown Police Lt. Thomas Kolencik, The victim was shot “in a vital part of his body” and several days dead at the time of being found.
Mike Aubele, Fayette District Attorney, revealed for his part that Guty showed no willingness to cooperate with authorities.
The victim was a native of the Pedro María Ureña municipality, Táchira state, and had emigrated to the United States to help her mother. She worked as a housekeeper at a hotel in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and had only been married for a few weeks.
