Elements of the Secretariat of National Defense seized in Sonora more than a thousand kilograms of methamphetamine, four of fentanyl and five of opium gum.
The seizure occurred after a search at the “Cucapah” Strategic Security Military Post, in San Luis Río Colorado, of a tractor-trailer from Espinal, Sinaloa, and destined for Mexicali, Baja California. During the search, packages of drugs were found inside the truck between boxes of chili, so the driver was detained and the drugs were seized.
The detainee and the evidence seized were made available to the competent authorities to determine his legal situation, the Defense said.
Likewise, federal judges based in Mexico City and Quintana Roo ordered that two people be prosecuted for their probable responsibility in the crimes of bribery, attempted fraud and fraud. One of them worked as a public defender.
In the first case, the control judge attached to the Federal Criminal Justice Center based in the Reclusorio Oriente ordered a trial and preventive detention against Héctor A for attempted fraud, since he allegedly made a telephone call to an area of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic in which he requested deposits of money posing as a federal public servant.
In the second case, a control judge assigned to the Federal Criminal Justice Center in Quintana Roo, with residence in Cancún, linked Alicia B, former federal public defender, to the process for the crimes of fraud and bribery, since she requested money from her client, alleging that this was to obtain her freedom, as well as to comply with one of the conditions imposed by the control judge.
