“According to Article 3 of Law 403 of 1997, the citizen who exercises his right to vote will have half a day of paid compensatory rest, which may be effective up to thirty (30) days after the date of the election.” reads on the official portal.

However, the entity also specified that students designated as jurors are not entitled to this benefit. “Jurors who are public or private employees are the only ones who have the compensatory day. Students, not having an employer who can grant them this permission, They do not apply for said benefit,” explained the Registry.
