Although this process will be extended until January 18, when all members will be able to access it regardless of the last digit of their identity document, the professor at the Pacífico Business School, Jorge Carrillo, provided some guidelines before starting the process.
To begin with, the expert pointed out that we should not lose sight of the fact that the objective of this resource is to care for people’s old age. Therefore, he pointed out that if you decide to withdraw it, it is best to invest it in long-term instruments.
“A young person has more advantage to replace that money, but they must also consider how much more the money they plan to withdraw could have yielded,” he told this newspaper.
In addition, he pointed out that it is necessary to review what use will be given to the resource if it is withdrawn. For example, he indicated that if it is to pay for a property, it is a notable investment, but if it is for a new business it could be a risky bet.
FOREIGNERS
One of the questions that arise with the eighth withdrawal is what will happen to members who have an immigration card. AFP Integra’s Operations Manager, Shirley Parodi, explained that the same system is followed for those who have a DNI, that is, the last digit of these documents is verified and the same schedule is followed.
“The eighth extraordinary withdrawal of funds from the AFP is available to all members of the Private Pension System, including those who have an immigration card. These people can submit their application from Peru or from abroad. If the deposit will be made in a bank account abroad, it is important to correctly register the information of the financial entity and verify that it matches the personal data registered in the AFP,” he commented.
Likewise, he recalled that the process is free and is carried out virtually through the official portal of each AFP. Once the request has been sent, it is advisable to review the communications that will be sent to the email, where you will be informed about the status of the process and the next steps.
