The banking entities and local financial institutions will be able to open to the public during this Friday in the provinces on red alert.
The announcement was made by General Juan Manuel Mendezdirector of Emergency Operations Center (EOC)after a meeting in which the main authorities of the country participated, headed by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to inform the country of the prevention measures against the Storm Melissa which continues to leave heavy rains in much of the country.
“The Lord President has authorized that banks can operate, but under strict measures as a precaution,” said Méndez.
He added that the directors of these institutions They must take their personnel into consideration, in case some cannot travel for security reasons. “It should not be taken into account due to labor issues,” the official said.
In the public sector
As for the public sector, in addition to the institutions that offer essential services, it was established that employees of the National Treasury and the Comptroller’s Office General of the Republic join the work.
The provision seeks to guarantee access to the Government’s end-of-month financial transactions.
