Former President Fernando Henrique Cardoso, 90, will have to undergo surgery due to the fracture he suffered in the neck of his femur, according to a medical bulletin released today (12) by Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein. FHC was admitted yesterday (12) to the hospital and remains hospitalized.
“President Fernando Henrique Cardoso was admitted to Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein yesterday due to a femoral neck fracture, and will undergo a surgical procedure in the coming days”, says the text of the medical bulletin released.
FHC was President of the Republic for two terms, from 1994 to 2002, constituent senator, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Finance. He is currently president of the Fernando Henrique Cardoso Institute (IFHC) and honorary president of the PSDB.
