Mexico City will dress in skulls, flowers and color to receive the twelfth edition of the Mega Procession of Catrinasone of the most anticipated events of the Day of the Dead.
This Sunday October 26thousands of people dressed as catrinas and catrines will gather at the Angel of Independencewhere the journey to the Plinth capital.
Parade time and route
The meeting point will be Angel of Independenceon Paseo de la Reforma. The activities will begin at 2:00 p.m., with artistic presentations and music on the main stage, while the procession It will officially start at 6:00 p.m. (although the appointment for participants is at 5:50 p.m.).
The contingent will advance Paseo de la Reformawill continue along Avenida Juárez, cross Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas and take 5 de Mayo until reaching the Zócalo of Mexico City, where a free closing concert with the participation of Mackonde, Pérez Prado Orchestra, the Carlos Campos Orchestra and Mateo López.

Closures and impacts on transportation
Due to the procession, there will be road disruptions and modifications to the Metrobús and Metro service:
Metrobus
- From 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., service will be suspended at the following stations:
- Line 1: Hamburg, Reforma, Buenavista II
- Line 3: Mina, Hidalgo, Juárez, Balderas
- Line 4 (Northern Route): Buenavista IV, Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office, Mexico Tenochtitlán, San Carlos Museum, Hidalgo, Fine Arts
- Line 4 (Southern Route): Buenavista IV, Mayor’s Office Cuauhtémoc, Mexico Tenochtitlán, Plaza de la República, Amajac
- Line 7: Hidalgo, El Caballito, Amajac, Paris, Reforma, Hamburg, El Ahuehuete, El Ángel, La Diana, Chapultepec, Gandhi, Anthropology, Auditorium and Campo Marte (from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.).
Metro
- The Collective Transportation System (STC) reported that Line 1 will close early due to tests prior to its reopening. The service will conclude at 10:00 p.m., with the last runs at 9:30 p.m. from Pantitlán and Chapultepec.
- To compensate, there will be support RTP between Pantitlán and Chapultepec from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m.
