This Saturday in the national territory a deployment was carried out with the purpose of continuing the Independence 200 Coastal Defense Exercises, which were led by the commanders of the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zones (Zodi) and the Comprehensive Defense Strategic Regions (Redi).
Under the premise of achieving the “perfect military-police-military fusion” the exercises were carried out this Saturday, regarding the aggressions carried out by US forces in the Caribbean.
In Zulia, G/D Javier Enrique Magallanes, commander of the Zodi, pointed out that following the course of the historical objectives of the Homeland’s plans and consolidating Venezuela as a territory of peace, law and justice, the exercises were carried out early.
For his part, the G/D Carlos Eduardo Aigster, commander of the Zodi Miranda, explained that the exercises consist of patrolling in the maritime area, through various mangroves and in the territory with the Rapid Reaction Units (Urra).
“We have collected all the information that our commander in chief, Nicolás Maduro, has ordered us to establish observation and surveillance points for the comprehensive defense of the Homeland,” he said.
He added that they are deployed to obtain an “optimal level of preparation, in order to face threats in each of the areas.”
In La Guaira, the commander responsible for the Zodi, VA. Gregorio Antonio Briceño Paniagua indicated that maritime patrol was carried out. “We have sailed, then, in a perfect fusion of military, popular and police, with the fishing militia here we come,” he indicated.
Regarding the western Redi, Major General Pedro Esteban González Ovalles, referred to the exercises carried out in Morrocoy, where maritime patrol was carried out in order to guarantee “independence and sovereignty to our people.”
Padrino López from Cerro Negro
For his part, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, pointed out from Cerro Negro, La Pastora parish, the exercises they carried out this Saturday.
«From these wonderful mountains, we are observing what La Guaira is, the Maiquetía airport. We are doing scientific range exercises of our weapons system, for approach. “La Guaira has always been a key to accessing strategic and commercial maritime spaces,” he expressed.
The senior officer explained some of the exercises, which are intended to defend the capital, which is the center of Power.
Fanb places radars on the 2,500 km of coastline
The head of Defense, Padrino López, explained that maneuvers have been carried out on Patos Island and in La Orchila, with positive results in the preparation of the units. “In Venezuela we have more than 2,500 kilometers of coastline that provide us with natural protection. We are placing radars and special forces on them, with natural protection.”
“The entire territory has become impregnable, where it is up to each militiaman to defend this homeland. The Militia has its accelerated pace and consolidation,” he stated during a day in the Waraira Repano National Park.
The exercise allows us to verify the operation of the communal defense areas, the popular security bases and the organizational capacity of the militiamen. “These Independence 200 exercises allow us to verify the combat in the territory that the militiaman and the militiaman have, since they have a high preparation of weapons and organization,” Padrino said.
On the other hand, he highlighted the results obtained by Venezuela in the fight against drug trafficking. “Venezuela has been successful in the fight against drug trafficking. They will not pass through here, and if they try, they will receive what we have defended, being a territory free of drug trafficking.”
In this context, he highlighted the strategic nature of the exercise, through the historical legacy of the independence struggle. “Here we see the revolutionary and independence project that Simón Bolívar had. From these mountain spaces we will defend our homeland.”
