The rewards offered by MinDefensa for information on leaders of armed groups in Bolívar

The Ministry seeks information on alleged members of: the ‘Gulf Clan’, the ELN and the FARC dissidents.

The city of Cartagena was the setting for the holding of a Security Council focused on the delicate public order situation that the department of Bolívar is going through.

The meeting, chaired by the Ministry of Defense, brought together the military leadership of Colombia, together with the governor of Bolívar, Yamil Arana and the mayors of the municipalities of the department, with the aim of finding solutions that combat crime.

The minister pointed out that information is the main element for intelligence and protection of the population. Therefore, in the middle of his intervention, Sánchez was emphatic that the three main armed actors that converge in the south of Bolívar are: the ‘Gulf Clan’he ELN and the FARC dissidents who did not accept the peace process.

Rewards

In that sense, they have declared ‘Gulf Clan’as the largest criminal actor in the south of Bolívar, for which they offer rewards of up to $640 million pesos for information about: alias Pineapple either Moses, Vejuco, Bocachico and Jefferson either The Black.

As for the ELNthe rewards are higher, recognizing the level of command. For example, they offer up to $3,284 million pesos by alias Omar or Casinga and even $1,641 million pesos for aliases nara and Arben. By alias Cart either Andrewthey offer up to $640 million pesos.

The minister also included the alleged main leader of the dissidents that commit crimes in the area, offering up to $640 million pesos by alias Julian.

Cartagena

Additionally, Sánchez announced rewards for criminals who commit crimes in the Cartagena area. By alias Jason either APfrom the ‘Clan del Golfo’ who, apparently, commit crimes in the city, offer up to $200 million pesos. By alias Pereira, alleged leader of the organized common crime group New Generation Saucethe reward amounts to $100 million pesos.

“A peace process is not needed for this, there is a care program for the demobilized. Simply call 107 or 157”said Sánchez. The minister highlighted that the program includes, as permitted by law, legal benefits and relocation so that the demobilized person has access to decent work.

The minister ended with a warning: “If not, we are going to capture them and if not, we are going to use all the legitimate force of the State to protect Colombians.”
