He credit The private sector, which includes loans granted by banks, financial institutions, municipal and rural savings banks and cooperatives, totaled S/439,277 million in September, which represented a growth of 5% when compared to the same period in 2024, reported the Central Reserve Bank (BCR).
By currency, the entity specified that the loan in soles increased by 4.2%, while in foreign currency it had an increase of 7.7%.
According to the BCR, credit to individuals increased by 6.7% year-on-year, while that granted to companies increased by 3.8%. The latter, without considering the impact of amortizations and cancellations of the Reactiva Perú Program, was 4.8%.
On the other hand, the Central Reserve Bank revealed that private sector deposits had a growth rate of 4.8% in the ninth month of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year.
During September, savings accounts were the fastest growing with an increase of 11.6%. Meanwhile, CTS registered an increase of just 0.3%, while time deposits fell 3.7%.
