The brand Avon presented the results of the survey empowered women, which had the participation of 1,500 entrepreneurial and non-entrepreneurial women between the ages of 25 and 55 who are residents of Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay.

Among the main findings, it is highlighted that the 62% of all women surveyed said have their own business or are self-employed (‘freelance’). Likewise, one out of every three entrepreneurs indicated that she combines her independent work with one in a dependency relationship. Additionally, half of the female entrepreneurs said that they started freelancing during the pandemic.
Another point to highlight is that six out of 10 respondents said they had their own business. Mostly, “they are sole proprietorships or small enterprises that do not exceed five employees”.

Faced with the questions that highlight how the goals of labor development are found, 70% of the women said that they believe that He has not yet achieved his goals. For their part, seven out of 10 entrepreneurs consider that the success of independent work is achieved “achieving balance between work and personal life”.
The survey also highlighted that Colombia is a country of entrepreneurs, Of those surveyed, 64% have their own business or entrepreneurship and 11% are freelancers.
Among the respondents who are not entrepreneurs, 64% stated that they would be interested in having their own business or working as a ‘freelance’. Additionally, 49% watch the entrepreneurship as a complement or replacement to their current permanent job. While 43% of Colombian women said that the main prejudice they face in the workplace is being considered “too emotional”, followed by the use of sex as a tool for promotion (31%) and being considered weak (23%).
