A confrontation between merchants occurred in the evacuation zone of the Modelo market in Huancayo, where merchants took over the place to sell live small animals that generated pollution and were finally evicted by municipal authorities.
In an unexpected intervention carried out by the Bromatology and Civil Defense offices of the Provincial Municipality of Huancayo (MPH), they found different deficiencies inside said supply center that would lead to its temporary closure; However, the biggest problem was located in the evacuation space, which was considered an infectious focus.
“There are several species, chickens have salmonella, this is a dangerous bacteria that can easily be transmitted to rabbits, guinea pigs and indirectly to people. We can accidentally step on the excreta of these animals and we take it inside the market or to the house and contaminate everything”explained the person in charge of Bromatology, Jesús Vila.
The partner merchants stated that said space was granted in times of pandemic for a certain period but they did not comply and took over the space.
The director of EI No. 465 Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, located next to the market, said that rodents, flies and cockroaches came to the classrooms, harming children between 1 and 5 years old. “They were putting the health of our children at risk. The rats enter, they are contaminating”said the school director.
