Quito, March 12 (Prensa Latina) The president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, today concluded an official agenda in Chile, where he coincided with several counterparts at the inauguration of the new dignitary, Gabriel Boric.
The head of state returned to the country today after the visit to the South American nation, which, according to the General Secretariat of Communication, strengthened bilateral relations in the diplomatic and commercial areas.
Lasso traveled to Chile accompanied by the Foreign Minister, Juan Carlos Holguín, and the Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries, Julio José Prado.
During their stay, in addition to attending Boric’s swearing-in, the Ecuadorian delegation held meetings with businessmen, in order to present the national business portfolio that includes projects worth approximately 30 billion dollars.
“In the country we are in a great crusade to promote business in the oil, energy, mining, telecommunications, infrastructure, agro-export sectors, so that it becomes an attractive nation,” said the dignitary at the meeting with representatives of the Chamber. of Commerce of Santiago de Chile.
For her part, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, María Teresa Vial, pointed out that economic reactivation, as a primary objective of the national government of Ecuador, is a common goal.
The growth of the commercial exchange between both nations in 2021 reached two thousand 765 million dollars, with an increase of 25 percent compared to 2020 and exports exceeded 500 million in the last year.
In Vial’s opinion, these statistics reflect that Ecuador is an exceptionally attractive destination for Chilean entrepreneurs.
