US Embassy suspends services at the Sambil VAC due to the effects of Storm Melissa

Embajada de EE. UU. suspende servicios en el VAC de Sambil por efectos de tormenta Melissa

Santo Domingo.– The United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic announced the suspension of operations of the Visa Assistance Center (VAC) located in Sambil for this Saturday October 25, 2025as part of the preventive measures against the adverse weather conditions generated by the tropical storm Melissa.

The diplomatic headquarters indicated that the decision seeks protect security of the applicants and the staff who work at the center, taking into consideration the risks derived from the rains and possible floods associated with the climate phenomenon.

The people who had scheduled appointments for that day will be notified by email with the necessary instructions for reschedule your appointmentso users are recommended to pay attention to their registered means of contact.

The Embassy recalled that official updates on consular services are disseminated exclusively through its institutional channels and urged the population to avoid unverified information.
