Celso Marranzini: “The electrical system is 99% stable"

The president of the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED), Celso Marranzini, assured this Friday that the electrical system national is stable after the effects of tropical storm Melissa, which affected a good part of the Dominican territory with heavy rains and gusts of wind.

During a call to Color Visión’s Hoy Mismo program, Marranzini reported that 99% of the electrical demand It is being supplied, thanks to the quick response of the distributors and the logistical forecast that allowed us to have sufficient materials for the repairs.

“He electrical system It is completely stable. We are supplying 99% of the demand and we must recognize the efforts of the managers, directors and all the personnel of the distributors,” declared Marranzini.

The official explained that the most affected areas were:

  • The Great Santo Domingo
  • Bani
  • Saint Christopher
  • Barahona
  • The Roman
  • San Pedro de Macorís.

Marranzini highlighted that the stability of the service was due to the fact that the CUED made provisions in advance, ensuring the inventory of cables, transformers and poles necessary to respond to any contingency.

“We have had everything the inventory necessary, and that has made it possible to quickly replace damaged equipment,” he said.
