AFIN warns of possible suspension of the Padomi-Delivery service due to lack of EsSalud payments

The Association for the Promotion of National Infrastructure (AFIN) warned that the Padomi-Delivery service, responsible for the delivery of medicines to older adults and people with reduced mobility, could be suspended from October 31 due to non-payment by EsSalud to the logistics operator Salog.

According to the union, this situation would affect more than 50,000 insured people from Metropolitan Lima and Callao who depend on the program to receive their medications at home.

Padomi is he EsSalud Home Care Programwhich offers comprehensive medical care to people over 60 years of age with chronic illnesses or mobility difficulties.

In addition to regular medical visits, the service includes free delivery of prescription medications directly to patients’ homes.

The union entity explained that the operator has maintained the operation of the service using its own resources, but the lack of institutional response has generated an accumulation of debt that puts the continuity of the logistics system at risk.

If the suspension were to take place, the patients of the program in 56 districts of Lima and Callao would have to travel to the Arenales Hospital Complex to collect their medicines, which would imply greater difficulties and health risks for those who require continuous treatments.

RELATED He reiterated his request to EsSalud to regularize pending payments with Salog and thus avoid interruption of service. The union maintained that the amounts claimed correspond to services actually provided and verified by the entity.

The association pointed out that the administrative management problems in EsSalud are harming the most vulnerable patients in the public system, and stressed that keeping the program operational Padomi It is essential to ensure the delivery of medications and home health care to thousands of policyholders.

Response from EsSalud

Through a statement, the Social Health Insurance (EsSalud) assured that the program’s home medication delivery service Padomi will continue to operate normally.

“We also guarantee the pending payments to the logistics operator SALOG, a supplier that maintains a current contract and is in charge of fulfilling the aforementioned service. For this, pertinent procedures and actions are being carried out”says the statement.

Likewise, EsSalud emphasized that under no circumstances will it allow the care offered by Padomi “thousands of insured people, mostly older adults, will be interrupted.”
