El Gaula intensifies operations against extortion in Barranquilla and its metropolitan area

The National Police, through the Unified Action Group for Personal Freedom (Gaula), continues to develop preventive actions and awareness campaigns aimed at citizens to counteract the crime of extortion in Barranquilla and its metropolitan area.

These activities are carried out in commercial sectors, educational institutions, transport terminals and residential communities, where Gaula uniformed officers provide key recommendations to avoid falling into this crime that threatens the tranquility and economy of families.

Among the main recommendations given by the authorities are not to deliver money or make deposits in response to suspicious calls or messages.verify the information directly with your family or friends, avoid disclosing personal or financial data to strangers, Do not respond to threats or give in to pressure and immediately communicate with the authorities. Brigadier General Edwin Masleider Urrego Pedraza, commander of the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police, referred to these actions. “We are committed to the protection of every citizen.
