Movistar rejected the outpatient sale of chips and reaffirmed that there is a prohibition on the marketing of these products, in order to guarantee the safety of customers.
“At Movistar, we reaffirm our commitment to the safety of our customers and to compliance with the rule that prohibits the outpatient sale of chips,” the company said in a statement.
Recently, a report by Latina revealed that this marketing is still carried out in the Center of Lima, despite the fact that Congress approved penalizing the sale and activation of these products with up to nine years in prison.
In this sense, the company recalled that the contracting of the company’s mobile lines must be carried out exclusively at its official points of sale. Any other form of purchase, such as chips on public roads, is not authorized by the company.
“We will continue to carry out control and coordination actions with our distributors to ensure safe and reliable contracting. We ask the authorities to inform us if they detect a person selling our chips on public roads to initiate the appropriate legal actions,” he highlighted.
Finally, he noted that “we will continue to make every effort for your safety and that of all our customers.”
