The current level of baseball in Cuba It has been in question in recent years, and much of the criticism comes from the refereeing, but it is rare for the measures taken by the authorities of this sport on the island to be publicly disclosed.
This Thursday, the specialized journalist Pavel Otero published on his Facebook profile considerations of former referee Luis César Valdés, technical head of that area in the National Seriesas well as the names of a dozen impartials who have been sanctioned in the current campaign.
The punishments applied range from one to five games, depending on the severity of the events evaluated. Another smaller group received up to 10 suspension shocks and a referee checker was included in the list.
The publication does not go into detail about the reasons that led to each sanction, but in general terms it points out the abuse of authority and technical mistakes at decisive moments in matches.
In the case of Gustavo Coipel, who works as a checker, he is accused of taking a measure against a referee without consulting the national commission.

The public announcement of these measures comes a few days after the public complaint by journalist Brita García against referee Luis Felipe Casañas, for the verbal abuse received during a match held in Santiago de Cuba, broke out on social networks.
The case unleashed a media stir with opinions supporting the media professional, who shortly after announced the holding of a meeting in which Casañas acknowledged his mistake and apologized for his attitude.
Precisely the name of Casañas, one of the most experienced within the group of referees that works in the current SNB, appears on the list with a sanction of up to five games outside of his duties.
A good part of the Cuban baseball fans have pointed out the attitudes of players and team managers, which have reached the Verbal and physical aggression against referees and managersas one of the most worrying examples of indiscipline on the playing fields.
