Digital platforms stopped working in the early hours of October 24, affecting millions of customers who were unable to make transactions or payments online.
News Colombia.
A new technical failure surprised millions of Nequi and Bancolombia users during the morning of this Friday, October 24. The platforms presented interruptions in their digital services, which prevented payments, transfers and recharges, generating strong discomfort among users who depend on these applications for their daily activities.

Reports began to circulate early in the day through social networks such as X and Facebook, where hundreds of people reported that the applications did not load correctly or simply did not allow them to log in. Some also pointed out that ATMs and the Bancolombia website were intermittent.
“I tried to pay a bill since 8 in the morning and it won’t let me in. It says connection error,” wrote a user on X, reflecting the general feeling of frustration among customers. In a matter of minutes, the name of Nequi and Bancolombia became a national trend, accompanied by memes and complaints towards the entities.
So far, neither of the two platforms has issued an official statement explaining the causes of the failure. However, on previous occasions, companies have attributed similar outages to technical maintenance or updates to their security systems.
Let’s see if I understand, the terrible platforms of Nequi and #Bancolombia They continue to fall, like every month. and the solution of @Bancolombia is that we use credit cards. Are they going to exempt us from charging the interest rate for using them today due to their poor service or are they going to give us cashback? pic.twitter.com/XTWivOjVq1

Again @Nequi and @Bancolombia OFFLINE @SFCsupervisor Your intervention is necessary given the lack of foresight of the entity and the serious effects that the users of this financial entity suffer that make it impossible to use our money. pic.twitter.com/EAzGIMutOP

It should be remembered that Nequi recently announced a scheduled maintenance break for the weekend of October 25 to 26, which has generated confusion among users, as many wonder if this Friday’s fall would be related to the preparations for said intervention.
While entities completely restore their services, technology experts recommend users avoid making multiple entry attempts or repeated transfers, as they could be duplicated when the platform returns to normal. Meanwhile, uncertainty continues, and Colombians hope for a quick solution to this new digital setback.
