TSJ ratified 30 years for a Cicpc detective

Trapped a subject accused of two homicides

The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) left untouched the 30-year prison sentence imposed on a Cicpc official, accused of participating in the murder perpetrated against Nazareth Marín (27).

Such a decision is contained in sentence 611 written by Judge Elsa Gómez and endorsed by her colleagues from the Criminal Chamber, Carmen Marisela Castro and Maikel Moreno.
The events began on March 19, 2023, when Nazareth Marín went to Los Ángeles beach (La Guaira), at the invitation of Cicpc detective Keisler Josué Pérez. They traveled in a Toyota Corolla vehicle owned by Derwin Jesús Ruíz Mujica, where Miller Andreína Ochoa was also traveling. Marín worked in the administrative area of the National Service of Medicine and Forensic Sciences (Senamecf).

At 8 pm on that day, when they had already shared drinks and the drug called tusy, Nazareth was attacked by Derwin Ruíz, Detective Keisler Pérez and Kenny Díaz, who took her to the car where they sexually abused her and murdered her by strangulation, the sentence says. Meanwhile, Miller Andreína Ochoa creates the version that Nazareth was lost on the beach and shouts it out in front of the bathers.

Then, they went to the Charro Azul tavern located in Catia. “They decided to continue celebrating the disappearance and death of Nazareth as well as the sexual violence that they had collectively practiced against their victim,” indicates the Public Ministry.

Seeing that Nazareth’s mother reported her daughter missing, Keisler, Kenny and Ochoa returned to Los Ángeles beach on Thursday, March 23, 2023 and released the body there, located in the afternoon in the vicinity of Bolivariana de Puertos, port of La Guaira.

Detective Keisler Josué Pérez Martínez and Juan Alexander Ventura, head of the homicide division of the Cicpc-La Guaira, were brought to trial for these events. The latter hid “procedures and expertise that involve the perpetrators of the crime,” for which he was sentenced to 9 years and 6 months in prison, according to a sentence issued on February 29, 2024, by the 5th Trial Court of Caracas in Matters of Violence against Women.

That same court sentenced Detective Keisler to 30 years in prison, as the author of the aggravated femicide. The maximum sentence also fell on Miller Andreína Ochoa, for being a necessary accomplice in the crime.

These sentences were ratified by the Criminal Chamber on October 17.
