INPE transfers 17 inmates from the Piura prison due to security measures

The National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) carried out the transfer of 17 inmates from the Piura prison to various penitentiary establishments in the country, within the framework of actions aimed at maintaining order and discipline in detention centers.

The measure was ordered through Directorial Resolution 090-2025-INPE-DTP.

According to the entity, the operation is part of the institutional policy promoted by its president, Iván Paredes Yataco, to strengthen prison security and prevent criminal acts from taking place inside prisons.

The procedure was carried out on October 21 at 00:05 hours, with the support of 10 agents from the Special Operations Group (GOES) of the North Chiclayo Regional Office, under the direction of the Deputy Director of Security, Luis Vidales Ruiz.

The inmates were distributed in different establishments in the country: eight were sent to the Cochamarca prison (Pasco), three to Chimbote (Áncash), three to Huaraz (Áncash) and three to Cañete (Lima).
