The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) dismantled a camp designed by the Colombian irregular group National Liberation Army (ELN) in Zulia.
Details of this procedure were revealed last Tuesday by General Javier Enrique Magallanes, commander of the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (Zodi) Zulia.
Magallanes was in the Catatumbo municipality (Encontrados) from where he reported that the dismantled camp was used by Tancol elements (Armed Terrorists, Colombian Drug Traffickers). While the General offered the report, part of what was seized appeared on the screen, such as a balaclava with the ELN initials.
The senior officer said that in that infrastructure they seized 9 assault rifles, 7 pistols, 2 fragmentary grenades, 20 rolls of slow fuses, 38 chargers and 4 high-end vehicles.
Near the shelter, the military located and destroyed a clandestine shipyard where three boats used to transport illicit substances were parked; 1600 liters of gasoline and 7 rolls of fiberglass.
After hearing this balance, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, stressed that the order is to expel any irregular group that intends to settle in the country.
The minister pointed out that they maintain permanent exploration along the coasts of the state of Sucre, which borders islands such as Trinidad and Tobago, from where they sent weapons to Creole groups enrolled in plans of violence for political purposes.
In this context, Padrino gave the floor to General Francisco Rivero García, head of the Zodi-Sucre, who reported the confiscation of 7 rifles (AK103 and FAL), 418 cartridges, 16 magazines and two optical sights. All this material was hidden in the El Tamarindo sector, Valdés municipality (Güiria), north of Sucre.
