Piñate: the working class is ready to build the sovereign Homeland

The Minister of the Social Process of Labor, Eduardo Piñate, stated this Thursday during his speech at the swearing-in of the Promoting Commission for the Workers’ Constituent Assembly, act headed by the President of the Republica, Nicolás Maduro, that the working class will be renewed with new leadership and that it is ready to build a sovereign, independent Homeland and defend it whenever necessary.

When referring to the process for the Workers’ Constituent Assembly, whose process has been preparing for months throughout the country, he said that interesting initiatives have emerged in the states, in the factories, in the sectors, in the organizations, productive councils of workers and workers, among others.

Indeed, we are experiencing a period of profound transformations in the midst of battle, struggle, combat, war. And the working class also has to assume that responsibility to review itself, to renew its methods, to renew the organization of the working class,” he pointed out.

“This constituent president – he explained – brings together the union organizations led by the Socialist Bolivarian Central of Workers of the City of the Field and Fishing, the productive councils of workers that you have called the productive vanguard of the country for the construction of socialism, the prevention delegates, the powerful movement of entrepreneurs that has emerged and developed especially from the pandemic that our people began reinvent yourself too.”

He stressed that even entrepreneurs, youth and working women have joined and new leadership is being developed.

However, he said that the Workers’ Constituent Assembly formally began this Thursday in the Darío Vivas Plenary Room of Parque Central, with the presence of the head of state and the physical and virtual presence of the workers.

A renewed Bolivarian Socialist Central

Piñate pointed out that the aim is to achieve a “renewed” Bolivarian Socialist Central of workers in accordance with the times we are living in, taking into account the changes that have occurred in the world of work “with the profound mutations that society and the world of work are suffering with digitalization, with artificial intelligence, with what some have called the fourth industrial revolution in the world with science and technology.”

He explained the planned schedule that begins next week with the debates “in the factories, in the companies, in the institutions, where our organizations are located.”

Piñate pointed out that “in some cases, I could say some where the union organization still does not enter with force, for example, commerce, the prevention delegates, if the occupational health and safety committees are there with a lot of strength in that sector. And then we are going to develop that work there.”

Schedule

The head of Labor detailed the planned schedule. In that sense, he said that from October 29 to November 21, the process of debate and election of spokespersons and delegates in each work center will be carried out, selecting 3 main delegates in each work center.

Then in the week from November 24 to 29, “we are going to hold municipal assemblies by sector and this is important for us to be clear about, brothers and sisters, all of us. The assemblies are sectoral, they are not an assembly in a municipality and then a state where all sectors come together. Each sector holds its assembly,” he stressed.

From December 1 to 6, they plan to hold sectoral state assemblies. “There the spokespersons will come out to the National Workers’ Constituent Assembly and already with a set of proposals.”

“We are talking approximately, perhaps we fall short, of some 42,000 grassroots delegates elected in the workplace. That implies a powerful labor movement in all sectors formed, structured and ready, President, to assume the tasks that the Revolution, that you as leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, as son of Commander Chávez and as head of the Venezuelan people and of the working class and leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, give us. east,” he said.

Piñate emphasized that the working class “is at the command of the Venezuelan people” and the President “to build the sovereign, independent homeland, to defend from every job with the fighting bodies of the working class articulated to the communal militia units to the territorial militia in case imperialism and its clowns and the fascists attack this homeland, they will encounter the working class.”
