The Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) confirmed the criteria of the National Electoral Institute (INE) that MC incurred omissions, partial compliance and delays in the reform of its statutes and declaration of principles, as ordered in matters of parity and in the face of political violence.
In principle, it confirmed the non-compliance because the party failed to establish specific mechanisms and procedures to guarantee the integration of women’s leadership and prevent, address, punish and repair gender-based political violence.
In the presentation by Judge Janine Otálora, it is highlighted that political institutes must comply with the constitutional, legal and regulatory parameters regarding gender parity and political violence directly in their basic documents, without regulations, protocols or other instruments being able to replace the obligation.
The TEPJF supported MC regarding its action program, because the INE demanded a level of precision and development “that goes beyond the programmatic nature of this basic document.”
In another matter, the superior court revoked fines from the INE to candidates for judges at all levels for different irregularities in matters of inspection. Of 172 files, he modified or eliminated the warnings from 82. The new magistrates (Bátiz and Valle) left the room because they participated in the judicial dispute. The sanctions for use and/or benefit from the distribution of accordions will be seen in another session.
