US threats against Venezuela violate international law

The threats that the United States has deployed against Venezuela correspond to a clear aberration of international law, as stated by international analyst Francisco Rodríguez in an interview with the program “Café en la Mañana”, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

Rodríguez explained that the aggression deployed by the imperialist government has a clear purpose: to appropriate the energy and mining resources that Venezuela has in abundance.

Likewise, he highlighted that these actions not only constitute a direct violation of national sovereignty and the people’s right to self-determination, but also represent a threat to regional peace, contrary to the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter.

The analyst questioned the use of the concept of “war on drug trafficking” by the United States. In this context, he denounced the invention of figures such as the so-called “Cartel of the Suns”, which, in his opinion, constitutes a manipulation that violates human rights and the dignity of peoples.

In the face of constant threats, he stressed that Venezuela is committed to a new order of peace, international law, respect for non-intervention and sovereignty, and highlighted the country’s active role in multilateral spaces such as the Group of Friends of the United Nations Charter and the G77+China.

“Venezuela’s participation in peace diplomacy has been brilliant. We act in all possible scenarios, promoting the diplomacy of the people,” he said.
