Santo Domingo.– The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) announced the rescheduling of commemorative activities for its 78th anniversary, due to the adverse weather conditions caused by Tropical Storm Melissa, which affects much of the country.
In response to the provisions of President Luis Abinader and the recommendations of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), the institution reported that the solemn mass and the presentation of the annual report on the performance of macroeconomic variables and the closing prospects for 2025 will be held on Friday October 24.
The event will be headed by the governor of the BCRD and president of the Monetary Board, Hector Valdez Albizualong with officials and representatives of the financial sector.

During the day this Wednesday, all departments of the Central Bank —including the main headquarters, the regional office, the historic building, COPRA, the Juan Pablo Duarte Library and the Numismatic and Philatelic Museum— will remain closed as a preventive measure.
However, the BCRD specified that The Payment System will operate normallyguaranteeing the flow of financial transactions at the national level.
The entity regretted the inconvenience that this decision may cause and reported that Work will resume on Monday, October 27 at its regular schedule.
