The coordinator of the Morena senators, Adán Augusto López Hernández, maintained that he is calm and is not concerned about the opposition’s complaints against him, nor the recent positioning of several transparency and anti-corruption committees to demand that he clarify his asset declarations, since, he maintained, everything is in order.
“The truth is, I have been clear enough, I have explained what I have presented, both in my asset declarations and in my tax declarations, but I also understand that the opposition, and some not so opposition, like to enter into that dynamic. I am not going to fall into that.”
In a collective interview, he assured that his relationship with President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo is cordial and that a day before, together with the coordinator of the Morena deputies, Ricardo Monreal, they met with her to discuss the pending legislative agenda.
She “is extremely generous in her treatment of me. We are movement companions and she has all my respect.” It is speculation that the president has canceled the Monday meetings, he said.
He assured that the President has not alluded to the accusations against her, since in the meetings they have held they are limited to the topics of Congress.
He commented that the Citizen Participation Committee of the National Anti-Corruption System and the state committees have the right to request the corresponding authorities to investigate their alleged inconsistencies in assets, taxes and interests, although he has been sufficiently clear in this regard.
There is, he maintained, a political background in this positioning of the anti-corruption committees and the demands, among them those of “a lady who filed 50 complaints, who accuses me that the Superior Audit of the Federation found irregularities amounting to 600 million pesos in the three years that I was governor in Tabasco.”
At that time, he explained, a budget of 180 billion pesos was managed and in every exercise there were minimal administrative irregularities; “That they study well and see who they belong to,” he noted.
