Santo Domingo.– On Wednesday afternoon, crowds of passengers were recorded at the stations Pedro Mir and Freddy Beras Goico of Line 2 of the Santo Metro Sunday, after the Government ordered that public and private work end at 1:00 pm due to the effects of Tropical Storm Melissa.
The measure exempts essential services such as supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics, fuel stations, telecommunications and private security.
The Ministry of Labor reported that Thursday, October 23, will be non-working in the provinces on red alert, in accordance with the Resolution No. 10-2025issued as part of the preventive actions against the passage of the atmospheric phenomenon.
The COE maintains 25 provinces on alert: nine in red, thirteen in yellow and three in green, for possible floods and landslides caused by Melissa’s rains.
