According to the president, her income project for 2026 only contemplates adjustments and updates to some rates, but there are no new taxes.
“There is an update on some taxes that had not existed, such as, for example, immigration quotas, it is very little, actually. For foreign visitors, there is also an update, which is actually very little compared to the cost of a plane ticket, for example, there are updates in that sense,” he indicated.
The federal president recognized that the only increase that may affect citizens is the increase in the Special Tax on Production and Services (IEPS) on soft drinks and sugary drinks, but insisted that she seeks to reduce the consumption of that product.
“What do we guide so that it does not affect your pocket? Instead of buying 30 cans of soda in a month, buy 29. It will help your health and you will not pay more tax on soft drinks. That is why we say that it is not tax collection, but rather it is an orientation to the population that with the same resource that you today use to buy sugary drinks, you use that same resource, only that you buy less and it will benefit your health,” argument.
