A Chinese drug trafficker identified as one of the largest suppliers of fentanyl for the large Mexican drug cartels and wanted by the United States was captured in Cuba, Mexican security sources informed AFP this Wednesday.
The drug dealer Zhi Dong Zangalso known as “Brother Wang”is detained on the island while Mexican authorities wait for Cuba to confirm whether he will be deported to Mexico or whether an extradition request should be formalized, the sources added.
The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaumavoided confirming the capture of the operator of Chinese origin linked to the Sinaloa Cartel and to Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), who escaped from house arrest in Mexico City in July.
During her morning conference, the president was questioned about whether the Security Cabinet had informed her of the arrest of the so-called “Brother Wang.” “Yes, let the Secretary of Security (Omar García Harfuch) report on this case,” he responded.
